About Us

Setu, meaning "bridge" in Sanskrit, was founded in 1994 by sisters Priya Tandon and Dr. Nandini Tandon to connect and foster collaboration between India, the USA, and like-minded nations. Emerging from the Setu Conference at Stanford University, the IndusSetu Global Foundation is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and equitable future.

With roots in Silicon Valley and Delhi, Setu is a non-partisan, nonprofit foundation that unites global leaders across private, public, and academic sectors. Our mission is to drive advancements in global health, women’s equity, and planetary sustainability through cross-sector and cross-border collaboration.

In line with our mission, Setu champions initiatives such as improving health outcomes in rural settings with a special focus on women, providing vital support in fundraising, facilitation, and implementation.
